Nuevitas, 2025.- Nuevitas celebrated the twelfth edition of the Bailar en Cuba Dance Festival.
The event was characterized by three days of competitions, workshops, and master classes, with contestant from Camagüey, Las Tunas, and this municipality.
For the first time, dance couples and dance improvisation competitions were held.
During the event, Cuban music, good taste, and the acceptance of the people present every night prevailed.
The presentation of the Folkloric Ballet of Tezontepec de Aldama, Hidalgo, Mexico, which participated in the festival for the first time as a special guest, was very well received.
In the 12-17 age group, the couple number 10 from Nuevitas took first place, while the couple 5 was the winner in the 18 and over category. The number 8 got the Grand Prize who represented Las Tunas, while the popularity award went to the couple number 11 from this Camagüey city.
In the competition, the Afro’s energy took over the party with great force on every night of competition.
As José Antonio Chávez said at the Dance Prize awards ceremony: "This festival must be defended because it is unique in the country."
From July 23 to 27, Nuevitas shone and enjoyed dance with flavor and to the rhythm of creativity and improvisation.
