Nuevitas,- For the second consecutive year, creators from this Camagüey municipality combined their talents and won the Grand Prize in Musical Spaces and the Prize in the section of Specialized Musical in the treatment of Cuban and/or foreign music in the XXXVI National Cuban Radio Festival.
According to the official results, published on the Radio Cubana website, the awards correspond to the work Programa Rumba con Los D'Leonel, by Marvely Font Roque.
The proposal recreates the history of the musical group that was initially called El grupo de rumba de Nuevitas (The Nuevitas' rumba group), and shows how their performances are kept alive by new generations.
The specialized jury of the XXXVI National Radio Festival, Camagüey 2025, made up of prestigious professionals from radio stations all over the country, evaluated more than 600 works in Havana from May 19 to 24.
The awards to reward those who stand out for talent in the endeavor to make “Sound to See” will be presented between June 3 and 8, 2025 in the City of Tinajones.
