Nuevitas, 2025.- As part of the modernization process at the 26 de Julio Cement Factory, of this Camagüey municipality, highly complex civil works are being carried out at the plant.
According to Ahiran Amed Díaz Valdés, Director of Investments, the sliding of water tanks and clinker silos are among the most significant actions.
Works of this magnitude had not been carried out in the country for years, which has demanded a greater effort and commitment from construction company workers in several provinces, he commented.
In this sense, he pointed out that the construction process has served as a school for many young people; and the incorporation of the use of renewable energy in the work is among the most innovative aspects of the investment.
In this regard, Leodanis Montero Atucha, builder of one of the support brigades from Cienfuegos province, described the sliding of tanks as a very rigorous experience. They work in difficult conditions, due to the intensity of the sun or the rain, but with the willingness to conclude the modernization of the plant.
According to Elder Peña González, Technology Supervisor, its impact on the humanization of work and the increase in cement production will be decisive in the development of the national economy, particularly in other works of social benefit.
