Nuevitas, 2025.- Since I was a child, I heard that agriculture was not good in Nuevitas, Camagüey, due to the salinity of its lands close to sea.
Science and the evolution of time prove the opposite; when there is commitment and dedication, fruits are obtained.
I say this because these coconut trees are just a few meters from the sea and remain the whole year full of beautiful clusters. I can also assure you that, besides being palatable dough and water, they are dangerous, why?
They drop from trees, so it is not advisable to be near them. The weight and number of the copious clusters is so great that it seems that the oldest ones are being removed and replaced by new ones; it is a constant evolution in the coconut tree time.
In an area of little more than 15 square meters there are 5 coconut trees, and they are all the same; it is difficult to count which one has more clusters, or which cluster has more fruits.
The truth is that it is delicious to drink coconut water, eat its white and soft dough or when they are dry, make a delicious candy with it.
Would you like to eat it? So respect nature, practice agricultural sowing, and keep in mind that no matter the place, if you put effort into it, you will reap harvests.
