Nov, 2024.- The Industrial Fishing Subsidiary Company (EPISUR), of this Camagüey municipality, draws up strategies to guarantee its social purpose.
Despite of the lack of fuel, work is not stopped because through productive chains they reach fishing levels, and although it does not satisfy the demand, it allows them to offer food to the locals.
The supply of sea species to public health, education, medical diets, Family Care Systems and companies, including 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Plant and the 26 de Julio Cement Factory, are some of the priorities of the Nuevitas Industrial Fishing Subsidiary Company.
According to Gerardo Izquierdo Rodríguez, head of fishing operations, this year the plans for capturing scales have not been fulfilled, while lobster, which is intended for export, reached the forecast.
The fishing subsidiary intends to diversify exports, which will favor the acquisition of raw materials and lower the prices of by-products, equipment and spare parts for vessels, while increasing contributions to the Cuban economy and the entity's economy.
According to its director Roger Esparraguera, they expect favorable changes for the entity in the coming months.
