Nov, 2024.- According to Rudy García Arce, director of the 26 de Julio Cement Factory, located in the Camagüey municipality of Nuevitas, the work carried out at this plant is 52 percent complete.

Up to the end of October, the civil part was 82 percent complete, while the structural mechanical assembly was at 48 percent and the electrical part at 17 percent, said the director.

Although there are reserves of aggregates and cement to continue with the investment process, limitations with physical fuel have delayed the planned schedule, added the director.

Currently, of the six tanks to be slid, two have been completed, and when the availability of fuel allows it, the sliding of the non-standard kinkler will be prepared, a process in which 160 cubic meters are expected to be concreted at a height of 22 meters, commented García Arce.

At the same time, work is being done on the concreting of the sliding of a 1,000 cubic meter tank, which should last for 22 days, and should define the progress of the civil works.

Once the plant is up and running, the production will be around 750,000 tons per year, since it will be able to process new cements with additives and make up to 30 percent additions, which, he said, represents a saving in kinkler and a greater quantity of cement with certain benefit depending on its strength.
