Nov, 2024.- Who in Nuevitas does not know Yordany Robles Borges?. Well, I tell you that I saw him for the first time in the former Municipal University Headquarters, today Municipal University Center; he was studying Social Communication.
I was not surprised as a teacher to see his research skills, talent for writing poetry and desires to communicate; something he did in his sunshine as a social worker.
All this led him to continue along the path of communication and to join Radio Nuevitas as a journalist; a profession that he quickly assimilated and put into practice to become an outstanding reporter, a fighter, yes, because he suffered in the face of unanswered questions and struggled to find the truth and the necessary solution to every question from listeners sent to the radio station.
He never gave up in the face of a refusal; he fought until he achieved his goal and went deeper into the medium until he improved himself much more and studied Audiovisual at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Camagüey, a career that ended with an excellent proposal that motivated him to defend his points of view in terms of direction and content of radio programs.
This is how Yordany molded his work at Radio Nuevitas and today he is the director of the center, a job that he combines with program management and reporting work because he is very restless and daring in search of accurate information, of social communication.
All this work led him to the Artemisa National Cuban Radio Festival 2024, event in which he was awarded with the works La Radio mi segunda casa and Juana la lagartija de cresta, recognized by the Heritage Department of the Institute of Information and Communication, and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) of Latin America and the Caribbean, respectively.
In addition, in Special Themes and for the use of heritage in radio production, La Radio mi segunda casa, dedicated to Finita de Quesada Hidalgo, distinguished broadcaster of Radio Nuevitas, received a Mention.
And in this radio tour with the winners of the Artemisa national event 2024, I can not fail to mention another member of the local delegation, Dayan Infantes Reyes, an outstanding sound producer, a young man who for over 15 years moves his fingers on the keys of the CMHL consoles, moment in which he forgets everything and does not listen, only to the director of the program, to achieve the magic in the sound, the one that carries the starring image, the one that joins voice, effect and music to create the story that the listener needs so much and succeed the daily objective of the local radio. We would say that he completes the production team with that delivery of quality that is always praised by those who are in tune.
For Yordany and Dayan, likewise, recognition and thanks for the love they give every day to make 'Sound to see'.
