Sept, 2024.- In the traveling photographic exhibition Nuevitas: the colors of its heritage, its author, the journalist and writer Lázaro David Najarro Pujol, has woven in twenty images a rich tapestry of history, stories and legends.
The author integrates the history of Camagüey into the warp and spreads it everywhere, recreating the landscape and architecture of the region. Some of these snapshots have obtained international recognition.
Threads of past and present intertwine in the history of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe or what we know today as Camagüey.
From the islets of Los tres Ballenatos in Nuevitas Bay, to the military architecture of Fort San Hilario, and finally the birth and growth of the new industrial city, Najarro has brought to life the beauty of the landscape and the rich traditions of the region.
It is a selection of photos from the book Nuevitas: where Puerto del Príncipe was born, a work that Editorial Académica Española, headquartered in Germany, made available to readers around the world in nine languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Polish, Dutch, Russian, Portuguese and Italian.
