August, 2024.- The presence in Cuban homes of dissimilar dog breeds is something very common in the Caribbean Island. Maira Pérez Arias, an employee of Radio Cadena Agramonte radio station, carefully takes care of her five-month-old albino Pekingese dog, which she named Chanti.

According to some bibliography consulted, it is stated that the Pekingese is a small breed dog of Chinese origin and very intelligent.

Chanti is an excellent guardian and, at the same time, very loving and affectionate with the people who pamper her. In addition, she is physically distinguished by her flat, pink nose.

Chanti is so tiny that she weighs less than two kilograms. Specialists assure that the Pekingese is one of the oldest breeds in the world.

Meanwhile, the Cuban Encyclopedia states that, generally, their eyes are: "round and bulging, giving them a wide-awake look".

They are sensitive and affectionate "with her owner, but distant with strangers. Despite her small size, she is a brave dog".
