July, 2024.- Nuevitas won two of the three awards that recognize communicative products of Camagüey radio broadcasters, among the 48 professionals of the country that participated in the 26 de Julio National Journalism Contest.

The chronicle Ponerle Corazón and the testimony Loba de mar, by reporter Arianna Suárez Torres, were awarded by the jury, meanwhile, Vertientes la noticia, by Yurisey Hechavarría González of CMHV Radio Vertientes, was recognized in the News Programs category.

Suárez Torres expressed that the result is not limited to her work, but to the effort of the entire group that contributed to materialize the works from the different specialties.

"This is one of the many achievements that Radio Nuevitas has deserved on the way to its 85th anniversary, on coming August 1st, and which commits us to improve ourselves every day", she added.

The jury of the 26 de Julio National Contest in the radio specialty was made up of doctors of science Zenaida Costales Pérez and Silvia Ivonne Albelo Medina, and the graduate Luis Izquierdo Valdés, who analyzed the 94 works sent by professionals from all over the country.

The award ceremony was held in the second half of July, in honor of the 71st anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks and the 61st anniversary of the founding of the Union of Journalists of Cuba.
