March, 2024.- “ It is a wonderful profession in which I support, care and protect people; it is quite humane and that is why I love it”, said Elva Arévalo Aguilar, bachelor's degree in nursing.
However, beyond words, with a simple glance into her eyes, one can perceive her love for the profession she has been developing for a decade at the Unidad Empresarial de Base Puerto Nuevitas.
“At the medical post, there are 4 nurses working in 12-hour shifts, in order to provide first aids in case of an urgency or accident”.
She also added, "We provide the service of transferring patients, if necessary, to the Martín Chang Puga general teaching hospital or to the Francisco Peña Peña polyclinic in Nuevitas, in the UEB car that remains on duty".
Arévalo Aguilar’s labor as nurse began 16 years ago.
"I have always worked in Primary Health Care, first in the Doctor's Office and the Family Nurse, and then I joined here".
The greatest satisfaction for Elva Arévalo Aguilar is to attend to patients to provide them a better quality of life, that is why she is seen smiling at every shift in Puerto Nuevitas.
