Aug, 2023.- Magic is the only way to describe the mixture of feelings, challenges, and dedication that radio work entails. It is about an irrepressible passion that grows like a little bug in hearts, says the journalist Milagros Manresa, and that ends up becoming love for what is done.

Having a good teacher is essential for successful learning, and Nuevitas Radio Station has played that role for 84 years.

Many of us who work in this environment today have grown up with Nuevitas Radio Station and as faithful children we continue to work.

I have fond memories of taking my first steps here. I was a young woman filled with insecurity, but eager to learn. Thanks to the helping hands of others, I have come to firmly believe that there is no better profession than being a radio operator.

The employees of Nuevitas Radio Station are a diverse group, with specializations in areas such as locution, journalism, sound, program direction, music, and writing. However, they all share a common passion for the medium and a desire to learn from those who have set good examples in the industry. This dedication to their work has made them an all-inclusive team.

When it comes to radio, there are countless people who have devoted their lives to it and have left their mark on this institution. At present, many others are using their creative and professional skills to contribute to 16 hours of programming each day. The list of individuals who deserve recognition for their invaluable contributions is endless. Nonetheless, all of them should be acknowledged for their outstanding work in this field.

To its long list of achievements, the CMHL, former CMJQ, accumulates intrepid experiences such as being the first in Camagüey to narrate a baseball game and to broadcast the passage of a hurricane through the land of Camagüey, as well as boasting the merit of launching cyberspace, the first website of the municipal stations in the Cuban Radio system; achievements that bear the commitment of their creators.

Today, when the calendar gives us another year of experiences and dreams, we thank Gaspar Estévez Pérez for the brilliant idea of providing Nuevitas with a radio station in 1939.

And truly interesting is building a home from the radio waves, a family to which not only those who work or leave their mark at the station belong, but also the faithful listeners who tune in to 103.5 FM every day. to be informed, entertained and share the joys of life.

Nuevitas Radio Station serves as a companion, confidant, and friend to the residents of this agro-industrial area, fulfilling its mission with passion and love.
