Nuevitas, September 30.-  Workers from the Club Amigo Mayanabo and Gran Club Santa Lucía hotels, located in the main sun and beach destination in the province of Camagüey, moved this Thursday afternoon to the municipality of Viñales in Pinar del River to support the recovery of tourist facilities affected by Hurricane Ian.

Javier Fonseca Castellano, delegate of the Cubanacán group, at the head of the delegation, reported that ten colleagues work in the areas of maintenance, electricians, carpenters, and masons.

“We are committed to recovering the territory with quality and promptness, taking into account that the 13th International Nature Tourism Event (Turnat 2022) was recently held there, which led to the sale of reservations for the winter.”

The Camagüey brigade, made up of Nueviteros, will join forces with colleagues from the provinces of Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba, a show of solidarity that since the passage of the meteorological event through the largest of the Antilles has brought together specialists and technicians from different sectors.

Since September 27, World Tourism Day, the workers of the smoke-free industry of the Santa Lucía resort have already prepared the conditions to step forward and demonstrate that they can be counted on whenever needed.
