Nuevitas, September 7.- The recovery of the network of canals and roads of the productive pole of Camalote constitutes one of the main projects to which the Agriculture sector is committed this year in this municipality to the northeast of Camagüey to promote better results.
The investment actions imply the cleaning of more than a hundred kilometers of this hydraulic complex that will favor the irrigation of the plantations and the increase of the harvests of vegetables and fruit trees processed in the local Canning Factory.
Created in the 1980s, this infrastructure made possible a production record of half a million quintals of food, for which now the rehabilitation of 120 kilometers is planned to benefit a similar number in the future.
The follow-up to the work is systematic, to which workers in the field have contributed for some time in volunteer work days, taking into account that it is a priority for the Agriculture of Nuevitas.
The recovery of the network of canals in the Camalote pole is expected to increase the production yields of the demarcation and solve one of the problems that the sector faces today, the availability of water for the irrigation of crops.
