Nuevitas, July 21.- Given the proximity of the popular referendum that will take place in September for the approval by the citizens of the project of the Family Code, the Municipal Electoral Council implements a work strategy to guarantee the quality of the process.
According to Facebook posts by Víctor Cardosa Romero, president of that body in Nuevitas, meetings have been held between all the factors responsible for transportation, communications, and food, as well as planned actions to declare the schools ready.
In addition, special attention is paid to the preparation of the directors on the assurances of the process, issues that are supervised by authorities of the Provincial Electoral Council.
The referendum will allow the Nuevitas people and Cubans the possibility of voting for the approval or not of the Family Code after the consultation carried out between the months of February and April of this calendar, a democratic process in which more than six million people participated on.
In the debates at the community level, around 434,860 proposals were made, more than 60 percent of them with positive opinions, according to a publication by Prensa Latina.
The consultation resulted in the modification of 47.55 percent of the provisions included in the previous version of the project, fundamentally, in matters related to the form, wording, and style.
