Camagüey, Aug 14.- Five research fronts in the current year add to the productive scientific pole, as an integration mechanism that contributes to territorial socio-economic development through the Camagüey’s delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
Sustainable food production, human health, confronting climate change, tourism and the electro-energy field are now among the priorities of the system that remains active in the province.
Among the results in the medical industry and human health is the contribution to the stage of formulation and filling of the Porvac vaccine, against pig cholera; and the introduction of digitalization of X-ray images.
Regarding Agriculture, the advances in research and development of new bioproducts with nematicidal, antifungal, growth promoting and inducing defensive response in plants stand out.
A dozen organizations at the provincial level, among them the delegations of the Ministries of Agriculture and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, and the Directorates of Education, Higher Education and the Sugar Company collaborate in the work of the productive scientific pole, with the purpose to boost local development.
