Since he was a child devoted the life  to the sport, to the baseball and boxing fundamentally, as El Hisleño he was known, so the people followed him and loved very much too. With the revolution triumph, to the Fidel Castro called, he dedicated to the athlete formation, which have represented to Nuevitas on the international competions, as  the Raul Marrero Tamari case, the first local athlete who paticipated in the Olympics games in 1968, Gualdo Areas, Luis Barriel and others that to this town the gave name.

Angel Alberto Martinez adds that his father was national champion of submanrine fishing, he played baseball, all to the sport bound until the last year of his life In this cvoast city he was a person very loved for the people.

The some that in this world I’m- Martinez makes emphasis- I debt to my father, He always was very systematic with me concernig to the education, He said me that would dio the  and that I would help every body, he was very humblke, simple and loved for the Nuevitas citizena.

Well, my dad to me was the maximun, really all that I had always I will remember, this loss as human being is very difficult to forget, then  he was my friend, my brother, my father, really it’s a pride to me.
